Sailboat Footprint Card
This is the first year in which I'm making some cards for my parents, as they became Grandma and Grandpa to our son. He is their second grandchild: they have also a lovely little granddaughter (my niece). If you are wondering why I would make cards for my parents, it is because in Poland we celebrate Grandparents in the same way as on Mother's day and Father's day - Grandmother's Day is on 21st of January, and Grandfather's Day is the day after on 22nd of January.
First I would like to share with you a card for my Dad. The card is made from mixed media and it presents a sailboat (my Dad loves sailing). The boat itself is made from our son's footprint, which I think is adorable.

There's not much you need to make this card:
1. Folded white card which has a slightly metallic effect, with dimensions 13.5 x 13.5 cm (after folding) from the Pollen series by Clairefontaine.
2. Some blue, dotted blue, red, metallic red, and yellow craft paper.
3. Some red, non-toxic, water-washable paint.
4. Paper glue.
5. A pair of scissors.
6. A few black double-sided sticky pads with dimensions 5 mm x 5 mm and 2 mm thickness.
To make the card you need to take the footprint of your baby's foot, and let it dry. Cut out the flag from the metallic red paper, the mast from red paper, two sails from the blue dotted paper, the sun from yellow paper, and two layers of waves from the plain blue paper. Cut around the footprint carefully: it will be easier to arrange the final card if the piece of paper with the footprint on has less white space. When you have everything prepared, glue the footprint, mast, sails, and flag onto the card. Also glue one layer of waves, but try not to cover the footprint. Next, using sticky pads, stick the sun and the second layer of waves onto the card. That's it.

Have fun creating!
